Courts Rule In Favor Of The General Board Of Church & Society

In the spirit of John Wesley and his belief that “The gospel of Christ knows no religion but social; no holiness, but social holiness,” social justice has long been part of the work of the United Methodist Church and its various predecessors.

There have been many attempts to vilify the justice work of the United Methodist Church, not the least of which was a recent attempt to prevent the General Board of Church and Society from operating its headquarters across from Congress in Washington, D.C.  Recently, the General Board of Church and Society prevailed in that suit, allowed justice work to continue.
